Flies
Studio Work - 2012/13
Ink and other materials on paper. Various sizes.
Ink is a preferred material mostly due to the unpredictability of its outcomes. However, there was never any intention to draw flies, but a vague notion of capturing elements of the space I was in. The ink was poised momentarily on the end of a stick when the fly flew in. In fright as it buzzed past my face, the ink drop dripped onto the paper. I scribbled the spot furiously to avoid a hole forming on the paper and so was born the first of thousands of horrible flies.
