Stevie Cohen is a practising artist with several years experience of working both independently and with groups and teams on a variety of projects. Prior to completing her MA in 2005, Stevie was an active member of two central studio groups and exhibited widely during that time. Since 2003 Stevie has been a lecturer on the BA Visual Arts programme at Salford University and has taught at all levels over this period including eighteen months as the Visual Art area leader for the Level zero (Foundation) year.

Stevie is a highly committed artist and teacher. She has excellent skills and abilities in her subject field, is an inspirational speaker and writer, and has quickly achieved respect as an educator. She has exceptional empathy with her students and is a good clear communicator. She has been given particular responsibilities in the support of students with various and special needs. Currently she teaches across all levels but primarily her role since sep 07 has been as a level one lecturer.

Stevie works as a freelance consultant for the Leftfield Fine Art Publishing Co. and Charm Community Arts Group. She has run several projects for Artists and Education as well as workshops and Enrichment Day programmes for Salford University.

Her own practice in drawing, collage and painting has been demonstrated in several live performances.  Recently more emphasis is placed on the exposing of process and methodologies, and all exhibitions include a collaborative element involving either the public or invited participants.
